As an OEM Sales Engineer, you will grow existing OEM account customers and build a portfolio of new account business through development of sound business relationships. You will work closely with our Rep network, building their capabilities to meet and exceed expectations. You will build a portfolio of agreements and build critical customer relationships to increase revenue yearly within and across your portfolio.
When you join Columbus Hydraulics as a OEM Sales Engineer, you can expect to:
• Consults with existing and potential OEM clients to assess and understand equipment needs and systems requirements.
• Participate in product development phase with customer, act as a technical contact with customer, and provide technical management of product change request with the customer and inside
the company.
• Lead and grow the business through existing and new accounts by identifying potential OEM customers and building solid long-term relationships,
• Develop and maintain effective internal partner relationships as well as relationships with major customers in order to achieve sales objectives.
• Develop and execute account strategies and activities for specified accounts; establish high-level relationships with business decision makers and identify business needs and problems.
• Develop and implement market strategies for key industries and customers.
• Quote projects and negotiate correct required pricing
• Prepare sales presentations to create product understanding and awareness
• Build relationships with key customers to enhance long-term business prospects
• Ensures that customer needs are met, which may include product modifications.
• Provides support to customers and resolves problems with installed equipment.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Basic Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or field related to products and services being sold preferred
• 3+ years of experience within selling an engineered solution to OEM’s OR Engineering experience with a manufacturer.
• Previous Sales experience preferred.

• Demonstrated ability to deal with sensitive issues, persuade others on new methods, applications, and new technology.
• Excellent sales and customer service skills with a proven ability to explain technical products to non-technical audiences.
• Ability to apply engineering, technology, or other related principles to product sales.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
• Proficient and disciplined in productive time management
• Powerful sense of urgency and accountability
• Experience as a fully contributing member on significant projects and/or teams.
Additional Information:
• This position requires 75% travel.
• Relocation assistance is not available for this position. Any relocation costs incurred would be the responsibility of the selected applicant.

Compensation:
• Salary of $60,000 to $80,000 a year + Bonus and Commission
