CNC Mill/Lathe Operator - 2nd Shift    

These positions are respsonsible for the operation of CNC Mills and Lathes.  Operators will learn to pull programs and edit programs.  Operators will also be required to learn how to touch off tools and change out tooling as needed.  Other requirements of the job will be to learn speeds and feeds and G/M codes.  Operators will also need to be able to read measuring devices such as caliper and micrometer.  Willing to train the right candidate.

Production Supervisor - 2nd Shift    

Job purpose

This position is responsible for supervising designated departments and production cells to increase efficiencies and keep projects on task.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Monitor and create production goals, train new production team members and cross train existing team members
  • Responsible for bringing Continuous Improvement ideas forward to improve efficiency
  • Ability to communicate effectively with production staff and management
  • Knowledge of equipment capabilities in regards to process flow and material procurement
  • Schedule labor to complete production work orders
  • Ensure conflicts on production floor are handled properly and escalated to management if necessary
  • Promote teamwork and listen to employee’s ideas
  • Ability to operate or at least be familiar with all plant equipment
  • Ability to read drawings (CAD prints), operator manuals, job orders, and follow procedural instructions
  • Management retains the right to assign or change responsibilities upon request

Qualifications

Minimum Education:College education preferred, Bachelors or Associates degree in Industrial Technology, Manufacturing systems or Welding Technology is preferred.

Previous Experience Preferred: Applicants with documented experience as a CNC/Mill operator/programmer will be given priority.  Experience with ERP/MRP software solutions is required.  Lean manufacturing experience with an emphasis on inventory management/control, operations management and scheduling is also required.  Knowledge of hydraulics systems, fluid dynamics, metallurgy, welding, paint systems, electronics, and ISO 9001-2008 is a plus.

Skills Preferred: CNC/Mill operations – 3yrs, CNC/Mill programming – 1 yrs, Supervisory experience with 30+ employees – 3 yrs, Inventory management – 3 yrs, Welding – 1yrs.

Utility - 2nd Shift    

The Utility will be responsible for carrying out the tasks needed by production on a daily basis. This position will help out in the areas determined by production to make sure production runs smoothly. Most of the tasks this position will be helping with will be general production roles and will require on the job training.

Wire Welder - 2nd Shift    

Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Ability to recognize voltage, wire, wire feed and wire speed requirements, jig usage
  • Ability to read drawings (CAD prints), weld symbols, operator manuals, job orders, and follow procedural instructions
  • Ability to inspect, identify, debur and stack production materials
  • Ability to read tape measure, calipers, micrometers, magnetic protractor, square, gas gage pressures and mixtures
  • Practice in observing safety procedures
  • Required to operate overhead cranes and forklifts (optional)
  • Management retains the right to assign or change responsibilities upon request

Minimum Education: Highly recommended High School Diploma/GED or equivalent, Certified to spec. # WPS-1 &2, welding process GMAW (wire welders). 

Previous Experience Preferred: 3 years for wire welding

  • Profit Sharing
    Columbus Hydraulics offers profit sharing that is paid on a percentage of the previous year's employee's earnings and is invested in the 401k plan. This percentage is determined by the overall profitability of the company and can go up to as much as 3.5% of gross employee earnings. This benefit is available after a two year waiting period.

Other Benefits

Columbus Hydraulics offers paid vacation that is based on years of service. The first year is pro-rated on a monthly basis. Two (2) weeks of paid vacation can be earned after two (2) full years of employment. Columbus Hydraulics also recognizes eight (8) paid holidays each year: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, the Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas day and one (1) floating holiday.
